Global leader in the manufacture of wind turbines

Based in France (Languedoc-Roussillon) since 2002, Vestas (originally Danish) opened its new French headquarters in Pérols in June 2011 (34).

The establishment of the new company headquarters of the world's leading manufacturer of wind turbines near Montpellier was a deliberate choice: the Languedoc-Roussillon region has a major wind resource for Vestas France.

Covering an area of 1,000 square meters, the new headquarters includes various services previously set up at two different sites, at the Millénaire in Montpellier and in Pérols, with a workforce of 130 people.

In 1991 in Port-la-Nouvelle, Vestas set up (11) the first high power wind turbine in France.

Since moving to France in 2002, Vestas (originally Danish) has developed seven maintenance centres and installed 630 wind turbines. The group has recruited more than 230 employees, including 80 in Pérols.
